PHASE 1: HIGH-FIDELITY MOCKUP

BACKGROUND

The Interactive Media Zone can be found in the Price Gilbert Library at Georgia Tech. It features a curved screen 40+ feet long, referred to as the LED Backdrop, and 10 interactive touchscreens. The three functioning modes at the IMZ are Exhibit Mode, Hero Mode, and Pop-up Lecture.
TASK

Create an interactive exhibit at the IMZ, presented in video form of a high-fidelity mockup.

TOPIC SELECTION

Between film, music, and fashion, the direction of film and movies felt most relevant to Georgia Tech’s audience and well-suited to the Interactive Media Zone’s environment.

VISUAL DIRECTION

The moodboard for this project is centered around old-fashioned theaters and modern-day streaming services. The key influences are vibrant colors on dark backdrops and dramatic imagery.

PROTOTYPE FRAMES

In order to show how the exhibit would function, frames for the different stages of the user flow need to be made. These frames and other assets are then animated to create a prototype video. In the final video, the “user” mimics how the exhibit would work while the animated prototype plays on screen.

PHASE 2: WORKING INTERACTIVE EXHIBIT

BACKGROUND

The IMZ has multiple modes of functioning, including an Exhibit Mode. This mode creates 10 areas designated by the 10 touchscreens below. By using the Exhibit Mode’s code, hosts of the IMZ can create their exhibit in this format.
TASK

Using the direction chosen in Phase 1, code the IMZ to create a working version of your prototype.
